- Minimum: 18 years | Maximum: 30 years
- SC / ST — 5 years additional relaxation

🎓 Educational Qualification
Any one of the following is required, completed by the application closing date:
- Matric (10th) + ITI Certificate in a relevant trade — Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Turner, Machinist, Refrigeration & AC Mechanic, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, etc. (NCVT or SCVT recognised)
- 10th Pass + Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering
- B.E. / B.Tech Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering
Final-year students are not eligible. Qualification must be complete before the last date of application.
🏥 Medical Fitness Standard
ALP is an operational post requiring the highest medical category — A-1 Medical Standard. Candidates must have sound eyesight (including correct colour vision), normal hearing, and overall physical fitness as prescribed by Indian Railways.
